Sharm El Sheikh is an Egyptian tourist city, located at the confluence of the Gulfs of Aqaba and Suez on the Red Sea coast. It has an area of 480 km, and a population of 35,000, which is a small number compared to other Egyptian cities. It is the largest city in the South Sinai Governorate. The city includes tourist resorts frequented by visitors from all over the world, and is famous for being one of the international diving centers that attract amateurs and professionals of this sport from all over the world. In front of its coast are the islands of Tiran and Sanafir, and among its most important areas are Ras Nasrani, Ras Umm Sid, Ras Jamila, Ras Church, Sharm el-Mayh, Nakhlat al-Tabal, as well as the Ras Muhammad Protectorate located to the south, and Naama Bay at the confluence of the continents of Asia and Africa. The city contains more than 200 hotels and resorts, many restaurants, cafes, commercial markets, entertainment cities and water parks, which encourages many tourists to visit it throughout the year and some prefer to go there in certain months.
