Mesaieed or Umm Saeed is an industrial city in the municipality of Al Wakra in the State of Qatar located about 36 km (22 mi) south of Doha. It was one of the most important cities in Qatar during the 20th century, having gained fame as a major industrial area and oil storage center. Mesaieed and its industrial area are both managed by a sub-division of Qatar Petroleum called "Mesaieed City Industry Department", which was established in 1996. The city is distinguished by the presence of a resort to which Qataris come on Thursdays, Fridays and holidays, which is Sealine Resort, which means Sealine Resort The sea is in addition to some housing, such as housing for employees who work in factories and companies such as Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Gas, in addition to spacious streets, the presence of banks, hospitals, and the marshes, which are salty lands, as well as being a shelter for birds.
