Canton St. Gallen is a compact urban area in eastern Switzerland. The region is considered a true embodiment of charming, traffic-free historical cities. The archaeological and natural monuments in the region have remained in excellent condition because tourism there is little compared to other Swiss regions, because it does not contain any famous historical landmark, but that does not make it any less important. What is found in it dates back to varying periods from the seventh to the eighteenth centuries. The excellent location of the region on the borders of Austria, Switzerland and Germany makes it a suitable starting point for tourist trips across Europe or Swiss territory.
