Posavina Canton is one of the smallest regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located on the Sava River, which forms a natural border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, making it fertile and ideal land for agriculture. It also consists of two separate parts, the western part and the eastern part. This area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by various archaeological discoveries of ancient coins and artifacts belonging to the Turks and Croatians. It is one of 3 local areas with a Croatian majority.
