The state of Beni Abbes was established in 2019. It is located in southwestern Algeria in the Sahara desert between the regions of Qir, Tuat and Guarara. Its area is about 101,350 square kilometers. It has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as attested by the rock carvings and inscriptions of the “Al-Marhouma” region.
