The municipality of Al-Khor and Al-Dhakhira was established in 1972. It is located on the northeastern coast of the country. Its name refers to Al-Khor Bay that runs along it. It was administered in the past by Al-Muhanada. They are a Bedouin tribe consisting of many local families.
