The Zoo of Monaco is located on the south side of the Rock of Monaco, and was founded by Prince Rainier III in 1954; It is home to nearly 250 animals of fifty different species such as exotic birds, turtles, caimans, hippos, reptiles, monkeys and farm animals. It is worth noting that none of the animals found here were purchased! Indeed, the Monaco Zoo has the peculiarity of collecting donated or abandoned animals.
