The Yutanavi memorial was established on the island of Ko Chang with the aim of documenting the naval battle that constituted a turning point in the history of Trat. In 1941, the Thai forces fought a naval battle against the French forces, during which the courage and strength of the navy personnel appeared, as many of them fell while defending their country. It is considered the most important battle fought by the naval forces throughout history, and a memorial was erected in their honor.
