The Women’s Church is one of the most important landmarks of the Swiss city of Zurich. It was founded in 853 by King Louis of Germany. This church and its monastery were inhabited by members of the aristocracy in Europe. Designed by Marc Chagall, and until the thirteenth century the monastery enjoyed the patronage of kings, then its ownership was transferred to the city of Zurich.
