The Winspear Opera House is located in downtown Dallas, and is part of the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts. It was opened in 2009 with a donation from Bill and Margot Winspear, where the Opera House is named after them. The building was designed in the shape of a horseshoe, which is the traditional design known to opera houses, and the hall can accommodate approximately 2,300 people, as it hosts many musical performances in addition to ballet performances.
