West Parai is an ancient reservoir and religious site established during the reign of King Suryavarman I in the eleventh century, located west of the walled city of Angkor Thom, and is one of the largest artificial water reservoirs in Siem Reap, and built in the middle of the waters of this reservoir a small temple on the island of its name West Meppon, now a destination for swimming, boating and recreation.
