The scenic Lake Weitzee is located in a beautiful valley between Ruhpolding and Gornwandkopf. Nearby there are two beautiful lakes, Lodense and Mittersee. It is part of the Weitzee Nature Reserve and is fed by a 5 meter deep spring from which water flows into the other two lakes, with an area of 63.6 hectares and a maximum depth. It has 9.30 meters and is a popular summer vacation spot for its beautiful beaches and clear waters suitable for swimming, and in winter it is ideal for skiing.
