Information about Wat Suwan Khiri Khet
A temple dedicated to Buddha, it's the perfect place to get away from the crowded beaches and other traditional Phuket tourism. Featuring a small and beautiful structure with ornate Buddhist architecture, it is a wonderful blend of Chinese and Buddhist designs. As you enter the temple, you are greeted by two enormous serpents, whose bodies encircle the entire complex. The beautiful garden is open to visitors at all times. You can go for meditation, and enjoy the peaceful environment. The main entrance is guarded by two fierce 'yaks', which guard the beautiful sapphire black Buddha along with the Kali (Hindu deities) adorning a cow. The inner walls of the temple depict the life of Buddha, describing the ten events of his life and his path to enlightenment.
