Information about Wat Sri Suphan
The world's first silver sanctuary for the world's first silversmiths. It is located in the Wat Sri Suphan temple. The sanctuary is decorated with pure silver on the most important and safe parts. Aluminum was used to decorate the rest of the protected areas, rather than pure silver for the entire building. Inside the sanctuary, each carved wall consists of stories of Lord Buddha, Buddhist doctrine, the history of Phra Gao Liap Lok and Phra Gao Prud Lok (Thai Buddha's Preaching Stories), Buddha's imprint, and a happy life in Buddhism. On the other hand, the outer surface of the reserve walls are symbols of the national institute, religion and the royal family, which is 4 lotsos indicating 4 types of human recognition, personification, Naga king, ASEAN countries, world famous cities, and literary works of the king. Mahajanaka Gataka, Sartandon, and 12 zodiac signs. These stories appear to have a stronger belief in Buddhism. The Silver Sanctuary was created by a group of Lanna artisans using local wisdom (silver crafts) for decoration. It took more than 12 years, with donation from all and finally, the creation of the world's first silver sanctuary was completed and ready for all religious services. Preserving the wisdom of the Wua Lai (silver handicraft) community serves as an educational center, as a religious teaching method, and is the navigation of life for all visitors. Most importantly, the design of this sanctuary has been completed as a national monument to the Thai people, and to pay tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Ninth King of Chakri Dynasty).
