The War Heroes Monument or Navy Monument is a war memorial tower located in the heart of Tangalle town. It was built in memory of the warriors who fought the civil war in Sri Lanka. Its construction began after the end of the war between Sri Lankan forces and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam. It is surrounded by stunning seascapes and a village.
