The vast Wadi Araba desert is part of the Great Rift Valley that stretches from Aqaba to the Dead Sea, whose landscape of red sand is as far as the eye can see, with a number of locals dispersed in small villages in the area. A number of tourism agencies in Aqaba offer tours of this desert, where you can tour it on foot, in a jeep, or even on the back of a horse or camel.
