The Volendam Museum attracts many tourists to the city every year. It consists of permanent and temporary exhibitions that house a unique collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs. This is in addition to the presence of traditional costumes, models of miniature ships and small antiques. Despite the small area of the museum, it tells many historical tales related to the city and its surroundings.
