Located in the center of Guimarães in the parish of São João, the Vesela Hot Springs Garden was created between 1884 and 1886 by Portuguese horticulturalist José Marques Loureiro, landscape architect and gardener Jerónimo Monteiro da Costa, It is famous throughout Portugal for its giant trees, and is considered the "lung" of the city, and a place for practicing outdoor sports.
