Vinh Nghim Temple is located in District 3 in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City and was completed in 1971. It is the largest Mahayana temple in the city, covering an area of 6000 square metres. It is also the first temple to incorporate traditional Vietnamese elements into a concrete structure. With a large Buddha statue surrounded by wooden carvings of sacred animals such as dragons, rhinos, tortoises and phoenixes.
