The Veluendas Park was established in the place of the Plaza de labra in 1907, and it initially occupied a small area of no more than one hectare, and over time it has been expanded to become an open space that attracts visitors on a daily basis, and many events and public activities are held in it. The park has a number of famous statues and memorials including the Enrique Villuendas Monument, which was erected in 1908.
