Information about Victoria Street Clock Tower
A number of jubilee clocks (a celebration or commemoration of an event such as the marriage of kings or the long passage of their rule) were built and held throughout the British Empire in memory of the golden and diamond jubilees of various British monarchs. Located at the intersection of Victoria Street and Montreal Street, this clock tower celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. It is made of volcanic stone and limestone with ornate wrought iron work and stained glass, and the tower also has two white marble panels and one bronze panel above the arches. Do not hesitate and visit it with your family and friends and enjoy seeing this amazing tower that survived a devastating earthquake!
