Lake Van is the largest lake in Turkey and the second largest body of water in the Middle East. It is located in the eastern Anatolia region. It covers an area of 3,713 square kilometers and is more than 119 km wide across its widest point. The lake is surrounded by snow-covered peaks, along with a group of churches and palaces.
