Information about Valmeekam Tribal Museum
A museum that displays the tribal history of Wayanad, north of Kerala. The museum was opened after Wayanad offered the Ministry of Antiquities a part of its national library to establish an archaeological museum that narrates the history of the province through all the artifacts discovered within its borders. The museum aims to shed light on the role played by the province, which borders several states throughout Indian history, focusing on its role as a center for trade with neighboring states and as a border city. The museum consists of two floors and displays 1,000 artifacts that have been excavated in Wayanad over the years.
