The Ferrier Valley is one of the best biological reserves in Italy with an estimated 41 reserves. It is a deep valley that begins in the Skala Mountains and ends after a distance of six kilometers in the Amalfi region. The valley attracts tourists due to the climatic factors and the strange environment in it. The valley is surrounded by a group of high rocky hills that protect it from the cold northern winds, which makes its climate warm and also contributed to its exposure to the warm and humid winds coming from the sea from the south. As a result of this strange climatic condition, what is known as the inversion of vegetation cover. The protected area is also famous for the presence of a fossilized moss wall in the valley floor. It resembles a huge sponge saturated with water, resulting from the accumulation of calcium bicarbonate in the place.
