The Monument to the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City is a pyramid-shaped memorial in Cairo, Egypt. The statue was designed by the Egyptian artist Sami Rafea and built at the request of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and the aim of the monument was to memorialize the Egyptians who died in the War of Attrition and the October War 1973. It is worth noting that the same site was chosen as the burial place for President Sadat after his assassination in October 1981.
