It is a botanical garden and a scientific institution for plant research and part of the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry of the University of Osnabrück, consisting of a large area of ​​8.4 hectares divided into two parts, the first section being outdoor gardens and plastic greenhouses of 5.6 hectares, which is planted with different plant collections from all over The world such as the plants of the Mediterranean and the Alps or the forests of North America, Eurasia and others. The other section is a nature reserve and home to rare and endangered plants; which are creating all the conditions for it to live.
