The Church of the Assumption is also known as the University Church because it belongs to the former Faculty of Theology at Pest and later to the Peter Bazmani Catholic University. The church was founded by the Pauline congregation in 1723 on a site that was originally a mosque, and after the dissolution of the Pauline regime in 1786 the church became the property of Pest University; The church is distinguished by the presence of two towers, each of which is 56 meters high.
