Ulcinj Salina Nature Park, a former salt producer, is today a safe and comfortable home to more than 250 species of birds, some rare and endangered. This is the only area in Montenegro where salt is traditionally made as a product of sea, sun and wind. Summer of 2019, it was officially declared a nature park. Every year, millions of birds visit the Ulcinj Salina, as the number of flocks sometimes reaches 40,000 birds during their migrations from Africa to Europe and back, and the biggest attraction in the park is the flamingos, where these beautiful pink creatures can be observed from a distance or even get close to it.
