This museum is one of the highlights of Trabzon and all of Turkey. It was opened to the public on April 22, 2001 as Trabzon Museum, and a total of 3,561 objects were found in the museum's list. The building has three levels plus a basement. The lower floor houses the archaeological works, while the first floor is the department of ethnographic collections. On the ground floor, elements belonging to the architecture and the rich history of the palace are displayed and the walls of all rooms are decorated with carved baroque ornamentation.
