Toji Temple is one of the most important and famous Buddhist temples located in the city of Kyoto. It dates back to the year 796 AD and was one of the 3 Buddhist temples allowed to be built in the city during that period. Therefore, it is considered one of the historical and national treasures as it contains many collections, statues and documents that document the history of that period. It consists of several halls and a main gate, in addition to a hall designated for guests, and it is surrounded by a charming garden full of trees and green spaces.
