The Palestinian Museum is an independent cultural institution in the town of Birzeit, adjacent to Birzeit University. The museum aims to promote an open and lively Palestinian culture at the local and international levels. It also contributes to producing narratives about Palestine's history, culture and society with a new perspective, providing an incubating environment for creative projects, educational programs and innovative research. The museum contains galleries, an external theater, an indoor and an outdoor café. It also includes an educational center, offices for staff, a movie hall, and a garden that tells the story of the agricultural and botanical history of Palestine during its various stages. The Palestine Museum is also the first green building to be awarded the Gold Certificate for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design in Palestine.
