This palace is a distinctive and important part of the largest archaeological site in the Bronze Age on the island of Crete. Knossos Palace is one of the largest and most luxurious centers, and covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The palace had many floors, was built of ashlar blocks and its walls were decorated with splendid frescoes often representing religious ceremonies. There are ruins of the palace and it is the cultural heart of Greek mythology. It is really a beautiful archaeological place, an important tourist attraction and worth a visit.
