Designed by the Flemish architect Anthonis Van Obbergen, the Great Armory is an outstanding example of Renaissance architecture. This armory was badly damaged in World War II, but it was restored and used as an art gallery of the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts, after it was used to store gunpowder balls and cannons.
