The house belongs to the wealthy Orthodox Christian Ditchby family, who donated the house to the city, in addition to another property that now houses a museum of literature and performing arts. The oldest part of this house dates back to the seventeenth century, as it was built in several stages in three different periods of time. Knowing that it was the first place where theatrical performances were held in the city, and the exhibits here aim to illustrate the lifestyle of the rich commercial family.
