Based on the fact that Cyprus is one of the first wine-producing countries, and with the advantage of owning one of the largest vineyards, the Cyprus Wine Museum was established as a tribute to this integral part of the island's history. The museum is located in the 5,500-year-old winemaking village of Iremi, at the crossroads of the wine routes in Cyprus, where the oldest remains of grape seed were found, and near Kolossi Castle. The museum includes a number of historical tools that were used in winemaking, in addition to the first samples produced from each type of wine.
