Information about The Bourbon Tunnel
An enchanting spectacle unfolds to visitors' eyes, a secret place full of history and a magical atmosphere, the entrance to the Bourbon Tunnel. Staircase with 8 ramps, 33 yards deep, the tunnel was built in 1853, during World War II, when it was used by the people of the area as a military hospital, and later became the judicial hall. The war left its mark even in the ground. In this way there are handwritings, foldable beds, and messages of desire and desolation. At a length of 530 metres, visitors can discover real life history, through the network of tunnels and cisterns in the grand buildings dating back to the 17th century, the display is amazing, even the lighting is perfectly integrated with the visitors' itinerary. Today, everything can be visited in the place to learn more about that era.
