The Angel of Independence is a famous monument located in the center of Mexico City on Reforma Avenue, and one of its most prominent landmarks, it was built in 1910 to commemorate Mexico's victory over Spain and its independence. Atop this monument is a golden statue of the goddess of victory, and its base is adorned with beautiful bronze sculptures embodying law, war, justice and peace, including a huge lion with a child symbolizing the strong Mexican people during war and docile during peace.
