Information about Tettye Ruins
The ruins of Teti are located on a plateau near the town of Pecs, and today they form a park of four and a half hectares and serve exclusively as a green park and place of recreation, surrounded on three sides by hills. The arena itself was built on the site of a quarry believed to have been used by the Romans as well; Its name may be due to the Turkish word "tekia" which means "monastery". The word refers to the summer palace of Bishop György Szathmáry, which was built at the beginning of the sixteenth century and was used as a monastery for Dervishes in the Turkish era; The ruins of the Summer Palace in the southern part of the square are a favorite tourist attraction and also serve as an outdoor theater in the summer.
