The Roman baths were public buildings equipped with the systems we call sanitary today, and the many spas were places for socializing, relaxation, and the development of the living activities of men and women who bathed in separate places and times. Within the Roman baths the first thermal baths were born in places where it was possible to exploit natural springs of warm water or those with special healing qualities. Over time, especially in the Imperial era, it also spread within cities, thanks to the increasingly developed technologies for heating water.
