Taza Pir Mosque is the largest historical mosque in the center of Baku, which was built between 1903 and 1914, with funding from a benefactor. Recent renovations have added gilding to the edges of the minaret and the stone cladding of the surrounding buildings, which include the center of Islam in the Caucasus. The mosque has great religious significance, as it witnessed many religious and political events that took place in the country.
