The Tanks Arts Center is one of the most famous art centers in Cairns, and it is located near the Cairns Botanic Gardens. The center is characterized by a different design, as three marine oil storage tanks dating back to World War II were recycled into a contemporary art space that hosts many exhibitions and works of art by local artists, in addition to organizing many festivals and cultural events.
