Information about Mount Bental
Tell al-Gharam, also called Matal al-Quneitra, is a dormant volcano located in the northeastern part of the Golan Heights, a high hill with a height of 1171 meters above sea level. The hill is part of a volcanic mountain range that extends along the eastern part of the Golan Heights. The hill witnessed violent battles between the Syrian and Israeli army in the October 1973 war, after the Syrians were able to completely liberate it and advance deep into the Golan in the early days of the war. From the viewpoint, you can enjoy majestic panoramic views, and you can also tour the trenches that were used during the war, and enjoy the existing facilities that visitors will find, including a restaurant and a souvenir shop. The hill is also famous for its picturesque nature, as beautiful trees and volcanic stones are spread across it.
