Information about Tainan Grand Mazu Temple
Tainan Grand Mazu Temple (Datianhu Temple), also known as Mazu Temple in Tainan, was the first Mazu temple built by the government in Taiwan. The deity worshiped at Tainan Grand Matsu Temple is called Heaven God, or more broadly called Mother Mazu, the most worshiped deity in Taiwanese society. The temple was originally the Emperor's Palace of the Ming Dynasty. The temple can be divided into 4 main parts: San Chuan Hall, Worship Hall, Main Hall and Rear Hall. The vibrant Matsu statue is the main feature of the temple. Pilgrims come here annually to practice their religious rituals.
