Information about Taichung Confucius Temple
Taichung Confucius Temple is a modern temple that was built between 1972 and 1976 during the last years of Chiang Kai-shek's rule, when Taichung was considered the capital of Taiwan Province. The idea came from this large and colorful museum imitation of a square-shaped palace of the Song Dynasty. Near the museum is the Martyrs' Mausoleum, which is a short walk away, and is dedicated to the fallen heroes of China's wars. Stunning gate, traditional Chinese palace-style architecture, colorful and grass-patterned roofs make this place impressive for many tourists.
