Tahrir Square is the largest square in the city of Cairo in Egypt. It was called Ismailia Square after Khedive Ismail. Then the name was changed to "Tahrir Square"; In reference to the liberation from colonialism after the 1919 revolution, then the name was officially established in the July 23 revolution in 1952.
