The Szeged Zoo is located on an area of 45 hectares in a wooded environment, only 2.5 km from the city center. It houses many animals from different continents, provides them with a natural environment similar to their original environment and suitable living conditions for them, and the protection of endangered species is a top priority. In this park, among the most prominent rare animals in the park are the giant anteater, the tamarin, the fossa, and the spotted tiger. Visitors can also meet famous animals, including the meerkat (or rock cat), giraffes, Asian elephants, and the Indian rhinoceros. In addition, this zoo is open to the public almost every day of the year and offers educational activities related to the animals and night tours.
