Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat is the largest mosque in Oman with an area of 416,000 square meters and a capacity of more than 20,000 worshipers. It can seat about 8,000 people inside, while the courtyard can accommodate up to 12,000 people. The mosque is a wonder of modern architecture, featuring a mixture of Of the Omani, Islamic and Middle Eastern architectural styles, and contains four main sections: a men’s prayer hall, a women’s prayer hall with a capacity of 750 worshipers, a library, and a theater for lectures and sermons. With a fountain in its center open to visitors during non-prayer times, it is worth noting that this mosque is one of the few mosques in the Arabian Peninsula that allows entry to non-Muslim visitors.
