The Stambolov Bridge is a magnificent metal bridge built during the Bulgarian liberation period. It was named after Stefan Stambolov, a famous Bulgarian politician and one of the most prominent leaders in the struggle for Bulgarian freedom and independence. The architectural model of this bridge was derived from Bridges of Belgium, Holland and Germany The 28-meter-long Stambolov Bridge over the Yantra River connects the central part of Veliko Tarnovo to the Holy Mountain and is a favorite bungee jumping spot for many locals and tourists.
