This museum dates back to the early sixteenth century, when the building was a palace belonging to a king, and was later converted into a public museum by order of Caesar Augustus. It is one of the oldest and richest museums in Europe, as it contains a valuable collection of diverse artworks. Including antiques, treasures, bronze and copper statues, paintings and drawings. The museum contains within it Augustus' valuable collection of tools he used, as well as a section devoted to intricate embroidery.
