St. Peter's Basilica is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Osnabrück. The church was first built in 785 by Charlemagne, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, and then rebuilt around 1100 after it was exposed to a massive fire. It is built in the late romantic style, characterized by its huge columns and high towers, including a bell tower located in the southwestern part of the cathedral. The cathedral also attracts visitors as it houses a valuable art gallery inside.
